While both Hollywood as well as Bollywood industry is abuzz with the 85th Academy Awards that happened today, actor Sunny Deol doesn’t consider it to be that big a deal. Each year Indian filmmakers send out an official entry to Oscars and count on it to the nomination list however, Sunny Deol considers it totally needless.
During the first look launch of his forthcoming romantic comedy I Love New Year, Sunny was asked what he thinks about the films that are sent to the Oscars each year and he said, “We are Indians, I don’t think we need to go to Oscars. First we should please our audience. There are over 130cr people in India and they all love you isn’t that enough?”

He further added, “I have never been a believer of all these things (awards). I just feel we should make cinema that is great and we should aim to overdo even Oscars. Eventually these awards aren’t what public gives. For us the love and affection of the people that is the actual award.
Although Sunny Deol may have created serious fanatics with his action dramas, the actor has been focusing on comedies from quite some time now. “I am really enjoying comedy films right now otherwise I only used to get offers to beat people to pulp in the same old action films,” says Sunny.
