Where Art Meets Style
Festivity is in the air and not to be missed was the Society Collection, Pune’s most admired and popular lifestyle exhibition. Chief Guest Pooja Shah, Fashion Director at More Mischief, inaugurated the exhibition at the Westin Hotel Pune. Taking a keen interest, Pooja visited all the stalls with patience and an eye for detail. Running successfully for three days, the fair received a great response.
A Tribute to Indian Cinema
Maithilee’s Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) paid a tribute to Indian cinema through a one-of-its-kind dance and musical event named ‘100 Years of Indian Cinema’.

Twenty professional dancers and singers enthralled the audience through their retro and latest Bollywood grooves, reminiscing to the milestone memories. ‘100 Years of Indian Cinema’ showcased a unique blend of dance and live music performed on various Bollywood hits through the last 100 years. The live orchestra comprised of singers lead by Jitendra Bhuruk (who entered in the Limca Book of Records for ‘Geet Gaata Hoon Main’, a 10-hour non-stop singing rendition of Kishore Kumar’s songs) and mesmerised the audience with the melodious renditions from Shola jo bhadke to Chikni Chameli. The show portrayed more than 10 dance styles, which have made their presence remarkable and memorable.
On The Tracks
The AGP Colts & Fillies Million and the Hyatt Regency Pune Trophy had the audience in thrall as the entire race course was surprised with a novel concept of the ‘flash mob’, with dance performances full of energy and spontaneity. The AGP Colts & Fillies Million Trophy was won by Bizarro owned by Haresh Mehta. Guests seen at the venue included a mix of the corporate world like Tarun and Reshma Sharma (BMC Software), Bengt Johnson (MD, Francois Compressor), Raja Kochar (Eaton) with his son Arjan, Jeetendra and Ripple Mirchandani (PWC) and socialites like Damayanti Raje Bhonsale, Tarveen Kaur, Diva Budhrani, Ashish Chandani, Ricky Bhiter and Rohit Arora. This high profile racing event was surely an afternoon to remember and a milestone for AGP and the Hyatt Regency Pune.
A Silver Jubilee
The much awaited Pune Festival was inaugurated in the presence of dignitaries from various fields. Marking the 25th year of celebrations, the Pune Festival 2012 was dedicated to the Late Shri Yaswantrao Chavan. This year, the awardees were Satish Alekar, Vijay Kumar, Gagan Narang and Umesh Zirpe.
